Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian signed a strategic partnership agreement.

Putin emphasized at the press conference that the agreement does not mention military alliances.

According to the Russian President, trade and economic cooperation will be the main focus of Russia's partnership with Iran.

In an earlier interview with IRNA, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Irakchi said that the comprehensive partnership agreement between Moscow and Tehran does not imply the formation of a military alliance between the two countries.

Notably, in June 2024, Putin signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Following this agreement, North Korean troops went to war against Ukraine.
