According to him, such an amount will be needed “at the initial stage”.
“It's not just about Ukraine, but we don't know what the Americans will be doing in five or ten years. All we know at this point is that the Russians have hardened their stance and have become much more aggressive toward us.
And in the last three years, they've spent 10% of their GDP on defense. Their GDP is smaller than ours, but they spend 10% of it. So we have to prepare for what's ahead of us. And regardless of what the Americans will do,” Macron noted.
