Escalating Losses Highlight the Conflict’s Intensity

The astounding figures highlight the tremendous toll the war continues to have on Russian soldiers. The rise in equipment losses, notably in tanks, armored combat vehicles, and artillery systems, highlights the severity of continuing engagements on several fronts.

Russia’s loss of 85 additional UAVs in a single day suggests continued reliance on drones for reconnaissance and offensive operations, despite Ukraine’s effective countermeasures. The cumulative loss of nearly 3,000 cruise missiles further highlights the attrition of Russia’s long-range strike capabilities.

Situation of Circassians

Circassian young men are regularly conscripted by Russia and are made to serve without their will. Many of them oppose the idea of fighting for Russia and try to seek asylum somewhere, yet they are unable to escape this situation. But also, European countries have not done anything concrete that could protect the Circassian youth who are trying to get away from the fight. This silence however raises key questions about the role that the international community may play in relation to those who oppose war that is seen as unwarranted.
